Community Connection International aims to connect communities and individuals to their potential.  The first program is being launched in the Dominican Republic in a community called Consuelo.  The founder, Angie Bennett, served in the Peace Corps in this community and has formed a strong bond.  The desire is to implement a new type of humanitarian assistance called Service for Aid.  This model of humanitarian assistance breaks the growing trend of aid dependence by rewarding participation in progressive coursework and community service with service-credit.  Service-credit is currency that can be used in local businesses.  The earning of service-credit promotes a more educated and community with increased capacity for skilled employment and self-initiated development.  The use of service-credit in the local economy will boost economic and community solidarity.  Community Connection International appreciates your desire to further this new and innovative approach to charity and human development.
